Meet The Team - Key Account Manager

In this weeks Meet the Team we talk to Hannah - one of our key account managers. We find out how Hannah's role has been impacted by the pandemic and what she likes to do during her free time.
What is your job role at Intamarque?
I am a Key Account Manager here at Intamarque, working with both UK and export accounts. I work with a variety of different customers from UK multiples, discounters & pharmacies as well as other wholesalers, cash & carries and some smaller traders. I feel it is important for me to understand each of my customers business needs and I work closely with each account, building our relationship and this enables me to service their accounts to the best of my ability.
Tell us about a typical day in your job – has this been impacted by the pandemic?
I always start my day with a plan of action! I have certain tasks which need completing within time limits so I have to manage my workload to ensure I meet these deadlines.
As my customer base is very different, it makes my job varied so I am always looking into the details of our product offerings and calculating to offer things to my customers.
Every day is different, no two days are the same in the week! Working through the pandemic meant that I was working from my kitchen for nearly a year before I returned to the office, I had to have a lot of self-control not to eat every 5 minutes I think!
Working alone at home, I think I learnt a lot more about the importance of communication within our teams as we had to do many more conference and zoom calls to ensure information was passed along! I am happy to be back working in the office now with my colleagues and having that face to face interaction again!
What do you love most about your job?
I enjoy working with a close knit team, all striving to meet our targets and give customer satisfaction. Its such a fast paced environment here, it’s a real buzz! The role is very varied and I enjoy the challenges it gives and the knowledge I gain each and every day!

Within our 100,000sq ft. warehouse we hold lots of stock on the floor ready to go which I think really helps us gain our customer base as they know we can deliver stocks quickly.
When you were a child what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was younger I wanted to work with children as a nursery nurse – that soon changed after I did my work experience, it was definitely a lot harder than I thought it would be!
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
During lockdown I really got into walking– who didn’t! I started exploring the areas local to me and have found some really beautiful walks around the Cotswolds. Most weekends I still go off and walk as much as I can (weather depending!) I also like cooking for friends and family when I get the chance to, especially on a Sunday! A good Sunday roast and a large glass of red ends the weekend perfectly doesn’t it!
